  • Forbidden City - The Palace Museum

Consisting of more than 9,000 rooms and spread over 250 acres, this huge palace complex was built in the 15th century and later extensively renovated and restored during the Qing Dynasty in the 18th century.

There were in total 24 Chinese emperors who lived and ruled the country in this place from Ming dynasty to the Qing dynasty. It's worth to spend a couple of hours to visit the highlight of the Forbidden City.



  • The Mutianyu Great Wall

Mutianyu is one of the essence in the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty. This place is breathtaking, worth any effort to get there. You can walk to the top to see the panoramic view of Mutianyu Great Wall and breath the fresh air.

Day 1Beijing Arrival

Welcome to Beijing, the iconic city as well as the capital of China! Upon arrival, your guide will escort you directly to your hotel and help you check in. The rest of the day is for you to explore the surrounding part of Beijing city on your own, feel free to get some practical suggestions from your tour guide.

Day 2Beijing Sightseeing

Enjoy a full day tour of Beijing. First up is the Mutianyu Great Wall, with a total length of 5400 meters, the Mutianyu Great Wall is the longest Great Wall in China and one of the 16 scenic spots in Beijing. Standing on the Great Wall, you can get a clear view of the few houses in the villages to the south of the wall, and on a good weather you can get a vague view of the tallest building in the far Beijing city. 

Continue to the impressive Ming Tombs to explore amazing and interesting history about ming emperors. Ming tombs are a collection of mausoleums built by the emperors of the Ming dynasty of China. Changling Tomb is the tomb of the 2nd Emperor in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di. It is regarded as the grandest one among the 13 Ming Tombs in Beijing.

Day 3Beijing Departure

Today is a big day of travelling so grab some snacks for the journey. This morning you'll visit Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City and spend some time exploring, taking photos and learning the history of this mighty site. 

Make your way to the centre of the city. Tian'anmen Square —— supposedly the largest downtown square in the world —— is the symbolic centre of Chinese power. As you stroll around the grand square, you'll learn about China's history by visiting the National Museum of China and the Great Hall of the People. It's from here that you'll enter the enormous Forbidden City, which was built more than 500 years ago.

It is located at the center of the central axis of Beijing. There are more than 70 palaces and more than 9000 houses. Follow your guide on a walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site, admiring the palatial buildings and cultural relics that date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. 

Continue to Temple of Heaven (Tiantan park) -- the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
