Day 1Arrive in Huangshan City

Welcome to the majestic Huangshan! Upon your arrival, our friendly local guide will greet you at the Arrival Hall of Huangshan Tunxi Airport or Huangshanbei Railway Station. You'll then be comfortably transported in a smoke-free vehicle by our seasoned driver to your hotel.

After settling in and refreshing at your hotel, you can take a leisurely walk along the  Tunxi Old street. This 900-year-old street is lined with authentic Huizhou-style buildings. As night falls, you can wander in Liyang In Street to experience the fusion of classical and modern.

Day 2Chengkan Village & Huangshan Mountain Tour

In the morning, we will head to Chengkan at the time agreed upon with the driver. Chengkan, located in Huizhou District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, is an ancient village with a history of over 1800 years. 

After the visit to Chengkan, the driver and guide will pick you up at the agreed time and drive you to the Mount Huangshan Scenic Area. The guide will take you up the mountain by cable car, and you can choose to ascend by cable car or on foot depending on your condition.

The guide may make appropriate adjustments to your itinerary (such as altering the sequence of cable car rides and scenic spot visits) based on weather, tourist flow, and other conditions to ensure the trip proceeds smoothly!

Route: Chengkan → Yungu Cable Car → Mushroom Pavilion → Beginning-to-believe Peak → Refreshing Terrace → Paiyun Pavilion → Hotel

Day 3Watch the Sunrise & Grand Canyon Adventure

According to the sunrise time displayed on the hotel notice board, we will wake up early and set off to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds at Bright Summit or Danxia (Purple Cloud) Peak. 

After enjoying the sunrise, we will continue our journey to the Xihai Grand Canyon. The  Canyon is a newly developed scenic area, suitable for visitors who enjoy hiking. Alternatively, you may choose to take the rail cable car (please note that the Xihai Grand Canyon is closed to visitors from December 1st to the end of March each year). At the end of the tour, you can take a photo with the Yingke (Welcoming Guests) Pine, and then descend the mountain by cable car or on foot.

Day 4Explore Ancient Villages

Departing from Huangshan City, we will travel by car to Hongcun Village (1 hour).

You can admire the fusion of Huizhou-style architecture with the water landscapes to experience the artistic conception of a "painting-like village". Heading to Nanhu Academy and Chengzhi Hall to learn about Huizhou culture and art. For lunch, you can savor Anhui cuisine in the Village.

In the afternoon, we will drive to Xidi Village (30 minutes). We will tour the attractions of Xidi, visit ancient Ming and Qing dynasty buildings to meet the tranquil village.

Day 5Huizhou Ancient Town & Huangshan Departure

Departing from the hotel, we will head to Huizhou Ancient City (30 minutes). Upon arrival, we will explore historical sites within the ancient city, such as the Xu Guo Stone Archway and Dou Shan Street, to experience the unique charm of Hui-style architecture and culture. 

Around 2 PM, we will end our tour to the ancient city and proceed to Huangshan North Station or Huangshan Tunxi Airport.

TRIP NOTES

We will upgrade trains to 1st class where available if book the tour 5 months in advance of departure.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
