9 Days to Chengdu, Chongqing, Zhangjiajie

Today our guide will be ready to meet and greet you outside the Arrival Hall. Then, a comfortable drive will send you to the well-selected hotel in downtown Chengdu.

After having a short rest, we will start exploring this city from People's Park. The park was built in 1911. It is now a relaxing place for locals. Enjoy the delicacy scenery and appreciate various flower shows. Drink tea at Heming Tea House is a must-do thing for you. Spend one afternoon, order a pot of tea and do nothing but relax.

Later, you will dip into Kuan & Zhai Alley, a relatively well-preserved ancient street in Qing Dynasty. It is a famous commercial and cultural pedestrian street in China. There are many delicious food, and you can enjoy your lunch here. 

Today our first stop is Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (known as Chengdu Panda Base) which is the best possible environment for rearing and breeding pandas. Here, you can explore the daily life of the cute pandas, and see them eating bamboo at their active time. 

After lunch, we take the fast train to Jiuzhaigou which will stop at Zhengjianguan, then met the driver, and continue with a driving of 2.5hrs to Jiuzhaigou.

Upon Arrival, check in hotel and enjoy peaceful night! 

Enjoy full day sightseeing in Jiuzhaigou, a nature reserve in the north of Sichuan. It is known for its many multi-level waterfalls and colorful lakes, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. It belongs to the category V (Protected Landscape) in the IUCN system of protected area categorization. 

Say farewell to beautiful Jiuzhaigou and travel to visit the Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area (walking up and get off by the cable car). It is the only well protected plateau wetland in China. With the change of the surrounding scenery and the angle of the sunlight brings out a colorful color.

Next, we will take the fast train back to Chengdu.

On the way, stop at Songpan Ancient City, known as Songzhou in ancient times, is located in Jin'an Town, Songpan County, northeast of Aba Prefecture. It was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. An important station of mutual market". The ancient city of Songpan is ancient and quiet. You can walk or take a rickshaw to walk through the ancient buildings, looking for the traces of time left in this ancient city on the plateau, and feeling the thickness and vicissitudes of the ancient city. You can also climb up the ancient city tower and enjoy the magnificent scenery around you.

After the visiting, back to hotel for overnight stay. Have a good rest!

After breakfast we will take the fast train to head to Chongqing, and upon arrival, we will head out to Ciqikou Old Town for our first destination, to visit the ancient Chinese characteristics of the building, feel the local culture, you can also taste the local cuisine.

Our next stop is Liziba Railway Station, the special thing about this spot is that you can see the train passing through the middle of the building, which makes it an interesting scenic spot for many tourists.

The last destination for today is Hongya Cave, which is located in the downtown of Chongqing on the bank of Jialing River. It used to be one of top eight ancient attractions. Hongya Cave has a very special construction feature which is built on hillside and on riverside, with one side of the house resting on rocks while the other three sides supported by wooden or bamboo poles. We suggest you board the ship in the evening, sail on the Jialing River and enjoy the night view of Hongya Cave.

This wonderful day will start from taking the fast train to Zhangjiajie.

Upon arrival, firstly we will enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to explore the Golden Whip Stream on foot, which is famous for pristine water, verdant mountains, steep cliffs and serene valley. As a veritable paradise for plants, its pathways are adorned by an abundance of flowers, trees, and grasses. Then too, this place is a kingdom fit for various fauna-birds, fish and land animals. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the winding Golden Whip Stream.

In the afternoon,ascend the biggest summit view point - Huangshizhai (Yellow Stone Village). We have chance to take a cable car up the mountain. Located north of Golden Whip Stream, Yellow Stone Village is a large mountain summit platform that offers numerous lookout points for natural views. With thousand of unique mountain peaks rising from base of mountain valley, you will be impressed with the grandeur of the iconic Mountain. From each scenic platform, the panoramic view of undulating peaks and soaring pillars is just breathtaking.

Today will be an unforgettable experience as we will head for one of the most famous attractions in the Forest Park and the one that attracts the most tourists – Tianzi Mountain. You will ascend the mountain by cable-car and at the top you will be able to enjoy views of Warrior Taming Horse Rock and the Western Sea, which are two of the most stunning mountain formations in the whole park and are really a pleasure to see. 

Then take shuttle bus to Sky Field Garden, from where you can see some rice field on the top of the peaks, which is very spectacular, hike down to a platform, you can get very close to the pillar mountains, which is one of the best view in the park!

Continue to take shuttle bus to the top of Yuanjiajie area, which is now famous for Avatar shooting base. From here, you'll stand at the same level with the mid-age pillars, which is bigger than those on Tianzi mountain. At last, take Bailong elevator down.

In the morning, wake up leisurely and enjoy the gentle sunshine!

Today's highlight is a morning excursion to Furong Town, the original name Wang Village. It is an ancient town with a history of more than 2,000 years, because of the magnificent waterfall. The town is a typical image of a small border town in western Hunan. The green slab-stone and stilted building groups reflect the characteristics of Tujia folk house.

Afterwards, we will transfer all the way back to Zhangjiajie for overnight stay. Have a good rest!

Today in the morning, you will say farewell to Zhangjiajie and be transferred to the airport, take the flight back to your sweet home. It has been a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you another China tour!
