Day 1Hohhot Arrival

Today you will take the flight to Hohhot, which named “Green City”. Upon arrival, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel for checking in. The rest of the day you can have a rest at the hotel or enjoy your leisure time on your own.

Day 2Xilamuren Grassland sightseeing

Today is a good day, in the morning, local guide will meet you at the hotel and then depart for Xilamuren grassland. There will be a small welcome ceremony when you arrive. After lunch, you will head to visit HongGeer Obo with the Mongolian Show. You will also enjoy the monglian banquet--Zhama banquet for dinner, and join the bonfire party after dinner.

Day 3Admire Dazhao Temple, Five-pagoda Temple, then stroll around the Mengyuan Old Street

Enjoy the sunrise in the early morning, then you will be arranged to Dazhao Temple which is the most beautiful temple in Hohhot and guest favorite pagoda. Following of Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

Afterwards, continue the trip to Five-pagoda Temple. Originally built in ancient Indian style, it is one of the only remaining parts of the Ci Deng Temple compound located in the Old City of Hohhot.

Then move on to Mengyuan Old Street, the local New Year meeting will be held at this street.

Day 4enjoy Hasuhai, admire Wudang Monastery

Another wonderful day is coming, after breakfast, we will drive about 70km to reach the Yellow River old path, but now it is a local wetland. Enjoy the Biking tour around the Sea of Hasu.

After that, you will be arranged to visit the Wudang Monastery, one of China's key cultural relics protection units and one of China's four famous Tibetan Buddhist temples. Wudang Monastery is as famous as the Potala Palace in Tibet, the Thar Temple in Qinghai, and the Kangbuling Temple in Gansu. It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia.

After the visiting, back to the hotel in Dalad for overnight stay, have a good rest!

Day 5have fun in Whistling Dune Bay, then drive to Ordos

The journey is still ongoing. Today's destination is the Whistling Dune Bay, which is named by the geographic phenomenon of "singing sand". Whistling Dune Bay is located in the Kubuqi Desert, Dalad Banner of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. It situates at the easternmost borderline of desert in China and is called the Head of Dragon Desert. Han Tai Chuan River flows in front of it and Gu Zi Liang Mountain faces to the other side of the bank.

Day 6drive to visit Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, then explore Kangbashi

Get up early and start your journey! Today we will drive to visit Genghis Khan Mausoleum. Genghis Khan is a Mongolian hero who reunified the chaotic Inner-Mongolia prairie, made great contribution to the founding of the powerful Yuan Dynasty and enhanced greatly the interaction of the people of China. The Genghis Khan's Mausoleum is about 15kms southeast of Atengxilian town of Ikinholo Banner in Inner-Mongolia. The Mausoleum was completed in 1954, but destroyed by Red Guards in the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) and after many years’ restoration; the site takes on the present appearance.

Then head to visit the Kangbashi, a new political and cultural center of Ordos. Visit the Ordos wedding service culture park, which is a park showing the traditional Mongolian wedding ceremony of Ordos and the traditional Chinese wedding and love culture. Walk around the Cheese Square; explore the culture and the unique sculpture.

Day 7drive back to Hohhot and visit Inner Mongolia Museum

This wonderful day will start from driving back to Hohhot, then we will move on to Inner Mongolia Museum. With a collection of 44,000 objects, this museum displays the unique ethnic history of Northern Tribes and serves as a window to know Inner Mongolia deeply.

After a leisure time in the museum, we will back to the hotel for overnight stay. Have a good rest!

Day 8Hohhot Departure

Today in the morning, you will say farewell to Hohhot and be transferred to the airport, take the flight back to your sweet home. It has been a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you another China tour!

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
