Day 1Shanghai Arrival

Today, you will catch your flight to Shanghai. We will meet you at the airport with a welcome board and then take you to your downtown hotel to check-in. 

First, we will explore Shikumen Lane, a historic residential area known for its unique architecture that blends Western and Chinese styles. Enjoy the charming alleys and local shops.

Next, we will visit Yu Garden, a classical garden built during the Ming dynasty. Afterward, you can stroll through Yuyuan Market to buy souvenirs for your family and friends. Finally, wander around Chenghuangmiao Old Town, which is filled with shops, food stalls, and historical buildings.

Day 2Shanghai Exploration

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting your guide and driver in the hotel lobby. 

Your first stop is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is the third tallest TV tower in the world. The Transparent Sightseeing Gallery is located on the second main sphere, featuring a circumference of 150 meters and a width of 2.1 meters. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Huangpu River through the transparent glass floor, creating the sensation of walking on air.

Next, explore Xintiandi and Tianzi Fang, vibrant areas filled with shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Be sure to stop by the world's largest Starbucks Reserve in Shanghai for a coffee.

After that, we will visit the Museum of Contemporary Art, which showcases modern and contemporary Chinese art with rotating exhibitions.

Take a leisurely stroll along the Bund to admire the architectural gallery. Enjoy a scenic cruise on the Huangpu River to see the illuminated skyline of Shanghai at night.

Day 3Drive to Suzhou and Visit the Xitang Ancient Town, then take a walk along Shantang Street, ending this day with a music fountain show at Jinji Lake.

Today, we are driving to Suzhou to visit Xitang Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Tentative Site known for its stunning charm that goes beyond natural beauty. Xitang boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage, having been the birthplace of many talents, including Yangmao, a master of arts and crafts from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), and Gu Xidong, a renowned playwright. With a history spanning over a thousand years, a visit to Xitang is not just a trip but a cultural journey.

Afterward, we will take a stroll along Shantang Street, a historic thoroughfare lined with shops, restaurants, and picturesque views along the canal. 

We will conclude the day with a spectacular music fountain show at Jinji Lake.

Day 4Drive to Wuxi and visit Turtle Head Island, Liyuan Garden, and Huishan Ancient Town, then return to Suzhou.

After breakfast, drive for about one hour to Wuxi and visit the Turtle Head Island. It is a scenic area of Taihu Lake, famous for its picturesque views and cultural significance. Discover the beautiful Liyuan Garden featuring classical landscaping, pavilions, and lotus ponds.

In the afternoon, stroll through Huishan Ancient Town, a historic town with traditional architecture and local snacks. Then we return to Suzhou for the night.

Day 5Visit Lingering Garden and New Suzhou Museum, then drive to Hangzhou.

We will start our day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Lingering Garden, one of the four famous gardens in China. This garden is renowned for its exceptional spatial design and beautifully showcases ancient craftsmanship, as well as the wisdom of southern Chinese culture and the art of landscape architecture. 

After exploring the Lingering Garden, we will proceed to the New Suzhou Museum, where we can appreciate a modern collection of traditional Chinese art and artifacts.

Today, we will drive to Hangzhou, where we will stay overnight.

Day 6Visit West Lake, Songcheng, Hefang Street, and Impression Westlake.

In the morning, we will embark on a cruise of West Lake to take in the beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Our last stop will be at the Longjing Tea Plantation, where you'll have the opportunity to sample freshly harvested tea.

Next, we'll visit Songcheng, a cultural theme park that showcases traditional Chinese culture, performances, and architecture. You will also have the chance to explore the vibrant Hefang Street, known for its local snacks, handicrafts, and souvenirs.

In the evening, we will enjoy a fantastic show of Impression Westlake (Standard Seat).

Day 7Hangzhou Departure

After breakfast, we will be visiting the beautiful wetland area, Xixi Wetland Park. It is a perfect place for walking trails and enjoying nature. Then visit the Meijiawu Tea Village, which is known for its Longjing tea. Here you can taste and learn about tea culture.

Finally, it's time to say farewell to Hangzhou. We will take you to the airport and back to your destination. Wish you a pleasant journey home.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
