Day 5Trek to Tsotup Chu Valley (5 to 6Hours,10km)

Dawn light filters through the valley as you shoulder your pack, and continue the trekking. The first challenge reveals itself quickly--a narrow gully where loose gravel shifts beneath your boots, hands occasionally brushing sun-warmed rock for balance.

Pay attention, reaching Shug La's wind-whipped summit might steal your breath twice over—once from the climb, again from the panorama. Prayer flags snap like jubilant applause as you trace yak trails downward, boots navigating jagged boulders that demand focus.

Later, Tsotup Chu Valley's glacial waters bite through hiking boots at midday. The sweet-smelling meadow grass cushions each step as herders wave you toward flat ground. At night, when tents bloom like bright mushrooms, you will sink onto earth still holding the day's warmth, swapping stories with locals as stars pierce the indigo sky.

Each step upward will reward you with widening vistas, until the pass releases you into a valley softened by golden light.

Dusk settles as you wander past silent herder camps, their stone hearths cold, their stories lingering in the wind. And your fatigue will fade into the crackle of a campfire. Proudly to say, the day will end not with a checklist, but with the quiet fullness of sunlit stones, untamed heights, and earth that remembers every footfall.
