Xiamen Huandao Road is a whole length of 43 kilometers, 60 meters wide, two-way 6 lanes. Motorized road 18-24 meters, non-motorized lane 6-7 meters, sidewalk 6-8 meters, green belt 80-100 meters. Xiamen Huandao Road is a high-standard urban landscape road integrating road traffic, scenic tourism, and beach environmental protection.
The most beautiful section of Huandao Road from Xiamen University to Qianpu, with a total length of 6 kilometers, is known as the “golden coastline. Most visitors will rent a bicycle and visit the scenery along the way by cycling.
Driving or cycling on the Huandao Road not only offers stunning waterfront views but also mountains, historic sites, local villages, and suspension bridges along the way, while you can admire exotic flowers and palm trees on the side of the road. What to See along Xiamen Huandao Road
Baicheng Beach, located at the foot of Baicheng in the south of Xiamen University, is a beautiful beach between Yanwu Bridge and Hulishan Fort. Many tourists like to walk, swim, and watch the sunset here, is a natural leisure park.
Zeng Cuo An Village is located in the southeast of Xiamen Island, covering an area of about 6.5 square kilometers. Zeng Cuo An was originally a quiet fishing village on the main road around the island. Over the years, Zeng Cuo An has been transformed by the Tourism Bureau and has become a popular scenic spot in Xiamen. Nowadays, there are many characteristic family hotels, food streets, and various art shops in Zeng Cuo An. It has gradually become an ideal paradise for art tourists to sit in small shops, drink coffee, enjoy the sea breeze, and eat delicious food.
Hulishan Fort is more than 100 years old and was built in 1891. Hulishan Fortress is located in the southeast cape of Xiamen Island, Xiamen City, adjacent to Xiamen University Park, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The Hulishan fortress covers a total area of more than 70,000 square meters, and the castle covers an area of 13,000 square meters. The structure of it is the European style and the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China.
Calligraphy Square is located outside Zeng Cuo An section of Huandao Road. The site is spread out along the "concave" shape coastal line, with a sandy beach in the middle and the original coastal green space of Huandao Road on both sides. It is about 500 meters long and covers an area of 30,000 square meters. It is the first square with calligraphy as the theme in the country, collecting the calligraphy of ancient and modern masters as a place. You can take a stroll here and enjoy the calligraphy.
Pearl Bay is situated opposite Zeng Cuo An in Xiamen Huandao South Road. Unlike other crowded tourist spots, Pearl Bay offers a serene environment with a breathtaking view of the sea. You can take a walk on the beach and feel the sea as it embraces you. You can also collect a variety of beautiful shells and occasionally spot crabs on the reef.
Yanwu Bridge Viewing Platform is composed of three trestles and a viewing platform, with a total area of about 10,000 square meters, overlooking the ferry, Gulangyu Island, and Zhangzhou Port. The main line of the viewing platform is about 628 meters long and connects with the sidewalk of Yanwu Road, and the middle connecting section connects with the outer road leading to the seawall on the west side of Yanwu Road, about 196 meters long.
Road Segment
The Ring Island Road from Yanwu Road to Baicheng is a streamlined S-shaped section with a total length of 1.2 km and a bridge length of more than 1 km, with 4 lanes in both directions. Interestingly, the bridge is shaped like a fish belly, and the piers are elliptical, forming a beautiful sea-viewing place, where people can enjoy the scenery of the coast, beach, and waves from different angles, levels, and sides.
The northern section of Ring Island Road is a forest section with a total length of 3.5 km. The road passes through the dense forest, and there are various kinds of trees, which make you relaxed.
Where to Rent Bicycle
The eight stations of sightseeing bicycles on Huandao Road adopt intelligent management mode, and all vehicles are smart locks. Tourists can rent a car and travel easily by scanning the code to unlock the lock.
