Welcome to Guizhou! You will be met by your driver at the airport and then transferred to the hotel to have check-in. Have a good rest and the rest of the day will be free for you to explore the city by yourself.
Today after breakfast, drive about 2.5 hours to get to the famed Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is the biggest waterfall in China and even in Asia. Then visit Tianxingqiao Scenic Area which is composed of Natural Bonsai Garden, Tianxing Cave and Stone Forest in Water.
Later in the day, drive to Anshun to have overnight stay.
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, and we will drive to Libo. Our first stop will be Qingyan Ancient Town, which dates back to the Ming dynasty, 600 years ago, and was initially constructed for military purposes. The town's main attractions are the old buildings and the variety of street food available.
In the afternoon, we will visit Longmen Town, known for its beautiful night scenery and intriguing legends. Take your time to wander around the town or relax with a cup of tea in the tea house. After our visits, we will drive to Libo for our overnight stay.
Start your day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will embark on a journey to explore the natural and cultural wonders of Guizhou.
In the morning, our first stop will be the Daqikong Scenic Area, named after the ancient Daqikong Bridge, which has seven holes. You will be treated to stunning views of forests, gorges, streams, and lakes.
After lunch, we will head to the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, named after another seven-holed arch bridge. Here, you'll be captivated by the beauty of various waterfalls and streams.
Before nightfall, we will drive to Xijiang and enter the Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village to witness the breathtaking night scenery. As dusk settles in, the valley will transform into a mesmerizing fairyland as countless small lights light up, unveiling the beauty of Xijiang Miao Village. Enjoy this enchanting hidden gem!
Wake up to the sound of birds singing and the fresh morning breeze in the village. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an open-air museum with over 1000 Miao households, making it the largest Miao village in the world. Here, you can experience the most authentic Miao culture, whether you're interested in Diaojiaolou or Miao silver.
Take a stroll around the beautiful and exotic village to immerse yourself in the charms of Miao culture. You can try on Miao traditional costumes, take photos, and even learn how to make the Miao-style glutinous rice cake.
For lunch, indulge in a Miao Feast served on a very long table, the highest standard of feast used to honor guests by the Miao people. Enjoy your meal and the hospitality of the local Miao community.
Afterward, we will drive to Rongjiang for further exploration and to learn about the Dong people!
Today, we will be exploring the Dali Dong Village. As we enter the village, the first things to catch our eyes are the drum tower and the wind & rain bridge, which are typical architectural features of the Dong nationality and can be found in almost all Dong villages. The Dong architectures commonly use the Mortise-Tenon structure, which does not involve the use of nails. Having existed for more than 600 years, each part of the village bears witness to the changes and ups and downs of this region.
After lunch, we will drive for about 2 hours to reach Congjiang, where we will visit another Miao village - Basha Miao Village. This village is unique as it is the only place in China where residents are allowed to hold guns. Legend has it that the Biasha people are descendants of Chi You, who was an opponent of Emperor Huang. After being defeated, Chi You and his followers escaped to the mountains in Biasha to continue their life of hunting and farming. While there, we can take a stroll around this peaceful village and experience the unique Miao culture.
Later in the day, we will drive to Zhaoxing where we will spend the night.
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Zhaoxing to visit some amazing minority villages. Our first stop will be Zhaoxing Dong Village, the largest Dong village in southeast Guizhou. It is regarded as one of the six most beautiful ancient towns in China by Chinese National Geography and is known for its drum towers. The village has five drum towers with different styles, all listed in the Guinness World Records. We will then visit the Zhaoxing Dong Culture Museum to learn more about Dong people and their culture.
Next, we will pay a visit to another Dong village, Tang'an Dong Village. You can choose to drive or hike to the destination. If you prefer walking, it will take about two hours of easy hiking. Many people choose to hike as it is the most popular way to experience the village's beauty and get close to nature and the locals. You can take beautiful pictures in the rice terraces and visit local families to experience their hospitality and enthusiasm. Tang'an Dong Village is known as the living museum of Dong culture, where you can experience the most authentic lifestyle of Dong people.
After visiting the village, we will drive to Zhenyuan Ancient Town to stay overnight.
After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our exploration of Zhenyuan Ancient Town. The town boasts a history of more than 2000 years and is renowned for its ancient buildings constructed during the Ming and Qing dynasties (from the late 14th century to the early 20th century). Upon arrival, we will visit the Black Dragon Cave, which is not just a cave, but also houses a complex of ancient temples, pavilions, and palaces both inside and around the cave.
In the afternoon, we'll explore the heart of the ancient town, starting with a visit to the Tin Hau Temple, showcasing an architectural style from southern Fujian. Nearby, we'll find the Zhenjiang Pavilion, which was built approximately 400 years ago. The name "Zhenjiang" signifies "making the Wuyang River peaceful." These structures have stood for centuries, witnessing the town's changes. Later, we can stroll around the Sifangjing Alley to experience the local pace of life
Following our time in Zhenyuan Ancient Town, we will drive to Fanjing Mountain to take a well-deserved rest.
After breakfast, we will head to Fanjingshan Mountain! Fanjingshan National Nature Preserve is a newly born UNESCO World Heritage that was just been listed in 2018. The unique karst landscape and the peculiarly shaped mountains formed by nature in the past 1.4 billion years have won the reputation. Other than the fantastic landscapes, the Buddhist culture in this mountain is also profound and is said to be the residence place of Maitreya Buddha. It is regarded as the fifth Buddhist mountain in China after Mt. Wutai, Mt. Putuo, Mt. Emei, and Mt. Jiuhua. We will take the shuttle bus from the east gate to the entrance of taking cable car. Then have a very easy hike to the Mushroom Stone and have a break. Thereafter, walk about 30 minutes to get to the Old Golden Summit. If your energy permits, you can even go to the Red Clouds Golden Summit to appreciate the scenery of "space in the sky".
Today after enjoying your buffet breakfast in the hotel you will be transferred to the airport and catch the flight home. Wish you a pleasant journey and hope to say you again in your next China tour!
