Main Courtyard (Changzhu Yuan)

The Main Courtyard is the heart of Shaolin Temple, consisting of seven parts, including the Mountain Gate, Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall and so on. It serves as both the living quarters for monks and the center of religious activities.

Pagoda Forest

Best Time to Visit Shaolin Temple

The best time to visit Shaolin Temple is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is mild and perfect for outdoor exploration.

Transportation Guide

  • By High-Speed Rail / Train

Dengfeng East Station: Take the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-Speed Rail from Zhengzhou, with a travel time of just 17 minutes.

Dengfeng Station: Regular trains from Zhengzhou take approximately 30-40 minutes.

  • By Long-Distance Bus

From Zhengzhou, you can choose the following options:

Zhengzhou Central Station: Direct buses to Dengfeng Bus Terminal take about 1.5 hours.

Zhengzhou East Station: Nearby buses to Dengfeng take around 2 hours.

Long-Distance Bus Station opposite Zhengzhou Railway Station: Tourist shuttle buses offer direct service to Dengfeng.

  • By Air

Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport: Take the airport shuttle bus to Dengfeng, with a travel time of about 2 hours.

Luoyang Beijiao Airport: Transfer to Luoyang Bus Station, then take a bus to Dengfeng.
