Today, our journey begins at the largest Orthodox church in the Far East, the Stain Sofia Cathedral. Constructed in 1907 by a Russian businessman and later redesigned and rebuilt by a Russian designer in 1923, this cathedral radiates magnificence and glory in a Byzantine style. Today, it serves as a public space, where citizens can delve into the city's past and feel the cosmopolitan pulse of Harbin through the interior exhibition of the Harbin Architectural Art Gallery.
From here, we'll wander along Central Street, a window into the exotic charm of this city. Discovering fascinating facts about Harbin's rich history and culture, you'll be surrounded by buildings that exude a European elegance. It's no wonder why some refer to it as "Oriental Paris," as you'll feel as if you've been transported to Western Europe itself.
Next, we'll journey to Sun Island Park, where the Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo takes place every winter. Here, you'll behold a diverse array of awe-inspiring snow sculptures, each embodying a unique cultural narrative. Take your time to appreciate these creations and capture as many memorable moments as you desire!
In the later afternoon, we'll embark on an exploration of the Harbin Ice Festival's crown jewel—the Ice and Snow World. Please note that for groups of less than five people, there will be no guide service within the park. Nonetheless, you'll be immersed in a winter wonderland, awestruck by the colossal ice sculptures, each intricately crafted and breathtakingly detailed. Behold magnificent replicas of famous buildings and monuments, spanning various architectural styles, along with figures of animals, people, and mythical creatures. Don't miss the ice slides and lanterns that add to the enchantment. As evening descends, multicolored lights will illuminate the sculptures, transforming them into a dazzling spectacle of icy artistry.
After a satisfying breakfast, we embark on an excursion to the charming Harbin Volga Manor, a Russian-themed cultural garden that exudes an exotic allure. This manor is a complete oasis, boasting lush gardens, Russian-style edifices, and tidal flat wetlands, all seamlessly integrated into its beautiful surroundings. Within the manor's grounds, you'll find a range of intriguing optional activities to enjoy, from thrilling snow tubing adventures to exhilarating ice sliding. It's a masterpiece that seamlessly blends natural beauty with remarkable craftsmanship, rivaling even the famed Russian gardens in their splendor.
As the sun begins to set, we bid farewell to Harbin and your three-day journey comes to a close. You'll be transferred to the airport as scheduled, and we wish you a pleasant journey home. We look forward to welcoming you back to China for your next adventure!
