Little Three Gorges is steeped in history, with hanging coffins dating back to the Warring States Period (475–221 BC) and ancient plank roads used by traders and soldiers.

    • Autumn (September–November): Clear skies and golden foliage create a picturesque setting, perfect for photography and outdoor activities. This is also the best time to witness the red leaves that blanket the cliffs.

    • Avoid Summer (June–August): High temperatures and humidity can make outdoor activities less comfortable, though the gorges’ beauty remains captivating.

  • From Chongqing: Take a 2.5-hour bus ride to Wanzhou, then transfer to a fast ferry to Wushan (3 hours, ¥200). From Wushan, local buses or taxis can take you to the gorges.
