Set on the edge of the Hexi Corridor, Zhangye was called Ganzhou in ancient times, it may seem like an unlikely place to find the historical sites. In addition, with abundant rivers, sunshine and fertile land, it is the largest corn seed production area in China and an important production base of grain, vegetable, melon and fruit, etc. Today we will visit Matisi Temple ( Horseshoe Temple ), named by the court as "Puguang Temple" in the 14th year of yongle Period in Ming Dynasty. Thereafter, our next stop is the Grand Buddha Temple, one of the important temples along the Silk Road, where you can experience the ancient religious art. Tour will end up with the Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park, which is the result of red sandstone erosion, together with its geological structure and long term desert conditions, wind and water erosion.
