Day 1Urumqi to Qinghe County

Your driver will hold your name sign and wait for you at the hotel lobby. then set off by private vehicle to Qinghe County, which is about 520kms away from Urumqi. Enjoy a hassle-free car journey with the pleasant scenery along the way, The driver will stop at the service station so that you can have a rest, Toilets are available all the way.

Arrive at Qinghe County in the late afternoon, the driver will assist you with the necessary documents.

Day 2Transfer to Takshiken Port

Today you will be escorted to your private vehicle when you meet the driver, then transfer you to Takshiken Port, which is a critical trade channel for people, goods and transportation between China and Mongolia. It is the second port open to Mongolia in China, and the first port open to Mongolia in Xinjiang. The opening of Takshiken Port will facilitate your journey from China to Mongolia more convenient.

Please Note: The Port is closed from November to next April every year.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
