10 Days Zhangjiajie & Yunnan Tour

Today you will take the flight to Zhangjiajie. When you arrive, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel check-in. The rest of the day you can have a rest at the hotel or enjoy your leisure time in Zhangjiajie on your own.

Breakfast in the hotel, today you will head for one of the most famous attractions in the park and the one that attracts the most tourists – Tianzi Mountain. You will ascend the mountain by cable car and at the top of the park you will be able to enjoy views of Warrior Taming Horse Rock and the Western Sea which are two of the most stunning mountain formations in the whole park and are a pleasure to see. 

Then take a shuttle bus to Kongzhongtianyuan, from where you can see some rice fields on the top of the peaks, which is very spectacular, hike down to a platform, and you can get very close to the pillar mountains, which is one of the best views in the park! Then take a shuttle bus to the top of the Yuanjiajie area, which is now famous for its Avatar shooting base. From here, you'll stand at the same level as the mid-age pillars, which are bigger than those on Tianzi Mountain. Take the Bailong elevator down.

Today we are going to the Zhangjiajie National Park and first visit the Yellow Stone Village, with an altitude of more than 1200 meters, the area is surrounded by knife-like cliffs, and is the best and largest viewing platform overlooking the sandstone peak forest landscape, but also the best choice to watch the sunrise.

Then pay a visit to one of the most beautiful valleys in the world - the golden whip stream. From here they appear to shoot up into the sky like giant natural skyscrapers. The water in the stream is clear, the air pure and the site very well maintained. We will have a relaxing hike along the stream. 

Check out in the morning, and transfer to Tianmen Mountain (which means gateway to heaven) in Zhangjiajie City. As the highest mountain (1548.6m) in the Zhangjiajie area, Tianmen Mountain owned the longest cable car (7455m) in the world, which takes half an hour for one-way riding. On the cable car, you can have a bird's view of the 99 curves of Tongtian Road. Enjoy the breathless walking along the glass bottom skywalk against the cliff. The 999 steps can directly reach the amazing Tianmen cave, the natural mountain-penetrating karst cave with the highest elevation in the world, which hangs on the towering cliff, it is indeed a big feast for your eyes!

Then transfer for 3.5 hours to Fenghuang Ancient Town and check into the hotel. In the evening, you can't miss the night view of the neat town, which is one of the highlight views. Finding a nice bar beside the river and getting yourself a drink with your loved ones is indeed an unforgettable experience for the holiday.

Today would be a relaxing day to appreciate the history and minority culture of Fenghuang. As one of the most beautiful ancient towns in China (regarded by New Zealand writer Rewi Alley)---Fenghuang(means Phoenix) Ancient Town, which is an ancient town with a history of 300 years. It is famous for the stilt wooden buildings (Diaojiaolou) beside the river. Then we go to Furong Town, original name Wang Village, which is an ancient town with a history of more than 2,000 years, because of the magnificent waterfall shuttle, also known as “the millennium hanging on the waterfall”. The town is a typical image of a small border town in western Hunan. The green slab-stone and stilted buildings reflect the characteristics of the Tujia folk house.

Today you will take the flight to Lijiang. When you arrival, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel check-in. The rest of the day you can have a rest at the hotel or enjoy your leisure time in Lijiang on your own.

What a fantastic day today! In the morning, we will go out early to visit the magnificent Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is the snow mountain closest to the equator of the Northern Hemisphere. Taking 25 25-minute cable car to Glacier Park, you will see the vegetation changes with ascending altitude. Walk along the plank road to reach 4680m and appreciate the fairyland with ice and snow. Take a cable car down, and drive to visit Blue Moon Valley with turquoise-colored water. After that, drive you to Yushui Village, It retains the traditional style of Naxi nationality. From the building facilities to every detail of life, you can feel the Naxi nationality culture.

Today we will go to visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site -- the Ancient City of Lijiang. It can be traced back to more than 800 years ago. Besides its unique architecture and local ethnic culture, it is also known for its orderly arrangement of bridges and waterways. Walk along the winding cobbled paths — it is said that you won't get lost as long as you follow the water.

After that, we are going to visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Tiger Leaping Gorge, or Hutiaoxia in Chinese, is the Yangzi's best-known gorge after the Three Gorges in Sichuan and Hubei. Wedged tightly between titanic cliffs, the river is so narrow here, as legend tells us, that a hunted tiger made his escape to the other side in a single bound. Then, we will drive to Shangri-La for 3.5 hours.

After breakfast, we are going to visit Songzanlin Monastery, which is one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Yunnan. Here, tranquillity prevails, as its 700 monks and acolytes (often beginning their training at the age of five) go about their daily lives – just as they have done for more than three centuries. 

Then travel to Napa Lake. Napa Hai ("Lake behind the forest") Nature Reserve is a state-designated wetlands area situated some 8 kilometers north of Shangri-La County (aka Zhongdian County) on the Yunnan - Guizhou Plateau in northwestern Yunnan Province. Not surprisingly, this wetlands area is a true paradise for all types of birds, most especially for waterfowl. In spring, the higher, drier parts of the reserve are a prairie landscape carpeted with flowers. Parts of this prairie are farmed, the main crop being highland barley.

Later in the day, head to Dukezong Ancient Town, Dukezong Ancient Town is Located on the southeast corner of Shangri-La County in Yunnan province, Dukezong Ancient Town is an ancient Tibetan town with a history of more than 1,300 years. Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture was built for the Tubo Kingdom of the Tang Dynasty. "Dukezong" is a Tibetan pronunciation, meaning "Moonlight City" and "castle built on stone”. Just behind Dukezong is Guishan Park with the world's biggest prayer wheel. Climb up to the temple on the top, and enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Later, you can join locals dancing in the square.

Today is the last day of your trip. After a relaxing morning , you will be transferred to the Train station. Wish you a pleasant journey home and hope to see you again in your next China tour!
