The Cangshan Mountain
If you come to Dali without visiting Cangshan Mountain, it will be a big pity. Cangshan in Chinese means the lush mountain which indicated how vibrant the mountain is. The mountain has 19 peaks and stretches about 50kms from north to south. It takes some efforts to ascend to the summit as the average altitude of the mountain is about 3500 meters above sea level. But it worth your energy because overlooking from the peak of Cangshan mountain is the best way to appreciate the beauty of Dali!
You can take a cable car to the top of the mountain, and hiking enthusiasts can also hike. There are three ropeways for you to choose from, namely the neutral ropeway, Sentong ropeway, and Ximatan ropeway. Because the routes and price of these three ropeways are not the same, the prices are not the same. Cangshan is not as easy to climb as it looks, is high in altitude, and the climate is complex and changeable. It's best to explore nature safely with a local guide who knows the route.

How to appreciate the beauty of Cangshan from God's perspective, Ximatan ropeway is a unique existence. With a total length of 5,555 meters, the Ximatan ropeway is the longest of Cangshan's three ropeways. For the whole 40 minutes, you can immerse in the ropeway to embrace the Cangshan mountains, the foot of the mountains, pines, and fir trees. Camellia rhododendron in May and June, ginkgo redwood from October to December, rime after snow in winter, and the different colors of the four seasons complement Cangshan and Erhai Lake. The lake at the top of the mountain is a pure and clear "ice lake on the top of the mountain", as a jewel inlaid in the top of the Cangshan Mountain, shining. According to legend, Kublai Khan, the emperor of the Yuan Shizu, invaded Dali in the south, crossed the Cangshan Mountain attacked the Dali capital, and once stopped at the top of the mountain to wash the horse, so it got its name. Whenever the turn of spring and summer, yellow, white, and red rhododendrons, pink-purple primroses, pale yellow-white flowers, rich and colorful dragon claw flowers, a gorgeous one, became a flower of the sea.
Cangshan Mountain is also a paradise for many hiking enthusiasts, the whole 19 kilometers. On the mountain, you can cross the forest sea, over the valley, wade into the stream, listen to the birds, enjoy the scenery, and relax your mind. You can pick up fungus in the mountains in the summer and nuts in the fall.
