Xizhou Ancient Town
Xizhou is located 18 kilometers north of Dali Ancient City, with Cangshan Mountain on the west and Bohai Sea to the east. The scenery here is awesome. There are a large number of Bai classical residences preserved in the town. It is also the birthplace of the famous dish - Xizhou BaBa, and there are many other traditional snacks. Strolling through the ancient town, you will see old people dressed in Bai costumes, BaBa shops, the Bai residences, etc. Bai ethnic customs can be detected everywhere in the town.
Xizhou is one of the birthplaces of Dali culture. It was already a settlement of the Bai ethnic group as early as the coexistence of the Six Edicts and the River Barbarians. It was originally a city of the Dali River Barbarians, and the former capital of the Tang Dynasty's Nanzhao was also built here. At that time, it was already "one of the ten counties" of the Nanzhao period, with a large number of people living in the area.
