Day 1Arrive in Beijing

Upon arrival at Beijing at 6:20 am, meet our nice guide and driver, then we will drive about 3hrs to Chengde, and visit the Jinshanling the Great Wall, which is located at the junction of Hebei province and Beijing province, it is the best-preserved section of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty, later on, back to Beijing to rest.

Day 2Beijing One-Day Tour

Today, we will visit Beijing city. We'll start by visiting Tiananmen Square, which is located in downtown Beijing and is the largest in the world. Then, we'll tour the Forbidden City, which was the Royal Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Later, we plan to visit Beihai Park and Jingshan Park to enjoy the scenery of Beijing and make the most of our free time.

Day 3Visit the Duhuang Mogao Caves

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Dunhuang. Once we arrive, we will visit the Mogao Caves, where you can experience the digital theater that will provide you with a clear understanding of Mogao in ancient times. Afterward, we will return to the hotel for check-in.

Day 4Visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain & the Crescent Lake & Jiayuguan Pass

In the morning, your guide and driver will take you to visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain and the Crescent Lake, where you can experience camel riding like the Silk Road caravans. The Crescent Moon Spring is situated 6km south of Dunhuang in the Singing Sands Mountains and is an oasis in the desert. Then, we will drive for about 4-5 hours to Jiayuguan. Upon arrival at Jiayuguan, we will visit The Jiayuguan Pass. This Ming Dynasty fort guards the strategic Jiayuguan pass, situated at the western end of the Great Wall. This section was the last to be built by the Ming Dynasty.

Day 5Visit the Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park

Our trip starts at the Weijin Tomb, which is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Jiayuguan. There are over 1,400 tombs that were built during the Wei and Jin dynasties (between the 3rd and 5th centuries). Next, we'll take the train to Zhangye and visit the Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park along the way. This park is 510 square kilometers in total and is located in the north of the Qilian Mountains, in SuNa County. It includes the color hills in Linze County, ice hills, Danxia, GanZhou District, and PingShan Lake. The scenic Danxia is located 40 km east of ZhangYe city and 20 kilometers north of Linze County town. This area is the most typical arid area of northern China.

Day 6Visit the Mati Temple

After breakfast, we will visit the Mati Temple, which is the national 4A tourist attraction, and the provincial forest park, where Mati Temple Grottoes, are an important heritage site under state protection. Then take the train to Tianshui.

Day 7Visit the Maijishan Temple

In the morning, we will drive to the Maijishan caves, which are 150 meters tall, and it was named for their shape -- like that of a pile of wheat. Afterward, we'll take the train to Lanzhou for rest.

Day 8Visit the Labrang Monastery

Breakfast is at the hotel. Then we drive to Xiahe and visit the Labrang Monastery and then back to Lanzhou and take the city Tour. Labrang Monastery: One of the major monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect. The architectural layout follows the Tibetan style, while the construction patterns are mostly Tibetan, Han, or a mixture of the two.

Day 9Visit the Yongtai Ancietn City

Today, we'll drive to Yongtai Ancient City, which was built in Ming Dynasty. It's has a history of more than 400 years. Then back to Lanzhou and transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Kunming. Have a good rest.

Day 10Visit The Chongsheng Temple And The Three-Pagoda

In the morning, you will take the flight to Dali, and meet your guide and driver. Then take you to visit The Chongsheng Temple And The Three-Pagoda, about 1 kilometer northwest of the ancient city of Dali, which has a history of over 1,800 years. It is a symbol of the history of Dali City, and a record of the development of Buddhism in the area. And we are going to the  Er'Hai, which is the largest highland lake next to Dianchi and one of the seven biggest freshwater lakes in China, The lake covers an area of 250 square kilometers and is located about two kilometers east of Dali. Later, we head to Dali Ancient City, It can be dated back to the year 1382 during the Ming Dynasty, east to Er'hai Lake, west to Cangshan Mountain, and marvelous scenery has been attracting many visitors.

Day 11Visit Xizhou - Zhoucheng

Today, our trip is start to Xizhou, which is one of the cradles of Dali culture, to explore the history and culture of Yunan. Then head to Zhoucheng, about 23 kilometers north of Dali Ancient city, it is the largest Bai nationality village in Dali, also the largest natural village in Yunnan Province. Driving to Lijiang for rest.

Day 12Lijiang Day Tour

Breakfast is at the hotel, and driving to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, stretches a length of 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a width of 20 kilometers (13 miles). Visit the Spruce Meadow, 3240 meters above sea level. Afterward, head to the Baisha Fresco, its drawing from the Ming dynasty to the Qing dynasty, which has lasted for more than 300 years.

Day 13Visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge

In the morning, drive to Shangri-la and visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The gorge is divided into the Shangri-la section and the Lijiang section. It is one of the deepest canyons in China. Then, transfer to the airport to Kunming.

Day 14Arrive in Kunming

Today, your guide and driver will take you to the Stone Forest, which is the national 5A tourist attraction and the national key scenic. It is the essence of Karst landform in the world. Then transfer to the airport.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
