Day 1Arrive in Lhasa

Today you will catch the flight to Lhasa. We will meet you at the airport with a welcome board, then bring you to the downtown hotel and check-in. Have a good rest.

Day 2Admire World Heritage Potala Palace, Visit Jokhang Temple, Leisure time at Bakhor Street

The tour will start at the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. Situated at 12,139 feet above sea level, this 13-story building contains over 1,000 rooms, various statues, stupas, murals, and artifacts.

Next, we will visit the Jokhang Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site and a spiritual center for Buddhists in Tibet. Adjacent to the temple is Bakhor Street, which is filled with pilgrims and street vendors. Here, traditional Tibetan items such as prayer wheels and jewelry are sold.

Day 3​Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse, get a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso, visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum.

Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse. Admire the Gampala pass (4790 m) on the way, and get a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m), which is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains. Then continue to drive west towards Gyantse. In Gyantse, tourists will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. After one and a half hour's drive, we will arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet.

Day 4Visit the Tashilunpo Monastery, drive along the New Zigzag road to Everest Base Camp.

In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchen Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery. Then, we'll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien's travel permit and then drive to Lhatse, which is a small town where you can have lunch.

After that, we will pass Tsola Pass(4600M), and Gyatsola Pass(5248M). Shortly after we enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, tourists can enjoy the panorama of the Himalayas at Gawula Pass(5198m). Then we drive along the New Zigzag road to Everest Base Camp(5200m). You can get closer to gaze at Mt. Everest peak. The sunset of Golden Everest Peak if time and weather permit at the lodging area.

Stay overnight at a tent or Rongbuk monastery guest house.

Day 5See the sunrise of Everest Peak, visit the Pungbuk Monastery, then drive back to Shigatse.

In the morning, you can see the sunrise of Everest Peak if the weather permits at the lodging area. Then we will visit the Rongbuk Monastery - the unique highest monastery with nuns and monks living together. Finally, we will drive back to Shigatse.

Day 6Take the train from Shigatse back to Lhasa.

Today, we will take the train to Lhasa.  Finally, the guide will transfer you back to your hotels in Lhasa.

Day 7 Take the fast train to Nyingchi, then drive to Basumtso Lake.

Today we take the fast train to Nyingchi and meet the driver, then drive to the breathtaking Basumtso Lake. Basumtso Lake is a heavenly place on Earth, combining snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, temples, wildlife, and villages. It is a renowned sacred lake and holy site in the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Spend the afternoon capturing the beauty of the area, and you can choose to hike or ride horses within the scenic area.

Day 8Visit Yani National Wetland Park and Nyingtri Cypress Forest, then drive to Lulang Forest.

After we have arranged the proper credentials, Today you will visit "Yani National Wetland Park". "Ya" represents the Yarlung Zangbo River, and "Ni" represents the Niyang River. there is the beautiful scenery of the two rivers' confluence and the turbid intersection we'll proceed to the 2,600-year-old Nyingtri Cypress Forest, pass through the Sela area, and then move on to the aboriginal Lulang Forests. Beneath perennially snow-capped mountains, the Lulang Forest bursts with verdant new life in spring and blazes with vibrant red colors in autumn, providing incredible scenery no matter what season it is. At night we arrived in Lulang and stayed overnight.

Day 9Drive to Bomi, visit Midui Glacier and Rawu Lake.

In the morning we leave Lulang to Bomi. This morning we will visit the Midui Glacier, where adventurous travelers can hike to the glacier's base. The Midui Glacier is located 50 kilometers from Bomi County and is formed by the convergence of world-class icefalls. It is one of China's three major maritime glaciers and the world's lowestaltitude glacier. The glacier shines like jade and forms. And Rawok Lake, located in southwestern Basu County. Rawu Lake is the main headstream of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, fed by the famous Laigu Glacier that extends down to the side of the lake. This beautiful lake is bounded on both sides by grassy lands filled with unique plant life, which makes for fantastic photos with the colorful plants contrasting with the snow-covered mountains in the background.

Day 10Drive to Nyingchi, visit Guxiang Lake.

In the morning, we will leave Bomi for Nyingchi, located in the southeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Nyingchi means "The Throne of the Sun" in Tibetan. The climate here is humid, so it is also known as the Jiangnan of Tibet. Unlike other parts of Tibet, the Nyingchi area is known for its rich vegetation and well-preserved original ecological features. Many rivers, such as the Yarlung Zangbo River, run through the canyons of the Nyingchi region. There are quiet villages, waterfalls, and vast landscapes on both sides of the river. It has been hailed as the“Switzerland in Tibet.”We will enjoy the serene beauty of Guxiang Lake at dawn. Then, we will continue westward, enjoying the picturesque landscapes reminiscent of a county.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
