Nestled on Qianling Mountain, a mere 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) away from the bustling heart of Guiyang City, Qianling Mountain Park sprawls across an expansive area of 426 hectares (1,052.7 acres), offering a serene oasis amidst the urban sprawl. Originally constructed in 1957, this park stands out as a uniquely vast green space within the city limits, earning the distinction of a 4A National Tourist Attraction.

As one of the prominent gardens perched on the Guizhou plateau, Qianling Hill Park exudes a harmonious blend of natural beauty, boasting cristal-clear waters, verdant mountainscapes, serene forests, and ancient temples that whisper tales of bygone eras.

Hongfu Temple

Hongfu Temple

Hongfu Temple, located at the heart of Qianling Mountain, approximately 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) from the bustling center of Guiyang City, stands as a symbol of both cultural and religious significance in Guizhou Province. This majestic temple, originally constructed in 1667, is renowned as the largest Zen Buddhist temple in the region, exuding a sense of sobriety and tranquility.

The name "Hongfu" carries deep meaning, embodying the spirit of cultivating Buddhist virtues and bestowing blessings upon mankind. This temple, which translates to "Good Fortune Temple" in English, is not only a place of worship but also a repository of rich historical and cultural heritage.

Hongfu Temple is a typical Chinese temple building, the most characteristic is the temple gate, and the temple as a whole is a red wall with a black roof. It has three main halls, including Heavenly King Hall, Heavenly King Hall, and Mahavira Hall.


Qianling Lake

Qianling Lake was dammed by the Daluo River in 1954, with an area of 28 hectares. In 1999, the municipal government increased investment and completed the project of Qianling Lake, which increased the capacity of the lake reservoir, making the dam more stable and the water quality clearer. Qianling Lake is surrounded by lush greenery and glistening water. Boats can be seen happily cruising along the lake, creating a tranquil atmosphere with the surrounding mountains. One of the notable landmarks is the "Liberation of Guizhou Revolutionary Martyrs Monument", which stands on the west bank of Qianling Lake.

Qianling Mountain Park, nestled amidst the verdant expanse of the Qianling Mountain, boasts a forest cover exceeding 98%, creating an ideal sanctuary for macaques. This lush, natural environment is home to over 500 macaques, who thrive in the Macaque Garden, frolicking and jumping with boundless energy and charm. Among the bustling metropolises of China, Guiyang stands out as the only city to offer such a vast and spacious garden dedicated to monkeys. Here, the macaques enjoy a level of freedom and comfort that is rare in urban settings, allowing them to exhibit their natural behaviors and interact with their surroundings.


Kylin Cave

Nestled along the 382-step Nine-Twist Path, a shortcut that winds gracefully through the scenery, lies the Kylin Cave within Qianling Mountain Park. In front of the cave, a spring flows gently, its origins dating back at least 400 years. Inside the cave, an array of stalactites hang in various shapes, each a unique creation of nature's hand. Among them, a particularly impressive stalactite stands out, its bulky form resembling a kylin, a beast that symbolizes auspice and good fortune in Chinese culture.

Because the general climatic background of Qianling Mountain area is located in the plateau region, the climatic conditions of Qianling Mountain are quite consistent, displaying the characteristics of plateau subtropical climate, which is different from the typical mid-subtropical region. There is no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer, with abundant heat and a long growth period. The average annual temperature is 15.3℃, with an average temperature of 4.9℃ in January. The highest temperature is 33-34℃, and the lowest temperature is 4-5℃. The frost-free period lasts for 270 days.
