The Nanjing Museum, located at No. 321 Zhongshan East Road in Qinhuai District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, is a comprehensive museum rich in historical and artistic value. As one of the earliest large-scale comprehensive museums in China, the Nanjing Museum not only displays precious cultural relics from various historical periods of Nanjing and even China but also attracts countless visitors with its unique architectural style and profound cultural heritage.

The Nanjing Museum occupies a vast area and boasts a dignified and elegant architectural style. The main building adopts traditional Chinese-style design, featuring flying eaves and bracket sets, creating a magnificent atmosphere. Inside the museum, the areas are clearly divided, and the exhibition halls are ingeniously designed with a reasonable layout, providing visitors with a comfortable viewing environment. The museum houses a vast collection of precious artifacts, including bronze wares, jade objects, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy, sculptures, and other art treasures spanning from ancient times to modern times. These artifacts not only showcase China's long history and splendid culture but also reflect Nanjing's unique status as an ancient capital of six dynasties.

Opening Hours:

Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00-17:00 (entry stops at 16:00)

Closed on Mondays (except for national holidays; closed on New Year's Eve and Lunar New Year's Day)

Tickets: Free, but reservations are required in advance (reservations can be made through the official website of Nanjing Museum or its WeChat official account)

Transportation:

Subway: Take Subway Line 2 and exit at Mingguogong Station Exit 1, then walk about 600 meters.

Bus: Take buses No. 5, 34, 36, 55, or 59 to Zhongshanmen Station.

Self-driving: Navigate to the underground parking lot of Nanjing Museum or the Kingdee Software Park parking lot (fee applies).


Visiting Tips

Route Planning: It is recommended to enter through the Art Museum entrance to avoid queues at the History Museum entrance during peak times. The suggested visiting order can be Art Museum → Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall → Republic of China Hall → Digital Hall → Special Exhibition Hall → History Museum.

Duration: It is advisable to allocate 3-5 hours for your visit to fully experience the charm of each exhibition hall.

Notes: Please remember to bring your ID card as you can enter and exit the museum twice on the same day.
