Day 1Nanchang Arrival

Today you will take the flight to Nanchang. When arrival, our driver will pick you up from the airport and transfer to the hotel check in. The rest of the day you can have a rest at the hotel or enjoy your leisure time in Nanchang on your own.

Day 2Jingdezhen

Today we will have a full day exploring the mystery of porcelain making. In the morning, we will drive to Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China, visit the Ancient Kiln Factory & Folk Museum. There are hundreds of amazing kilns with the oldest kiln dating back to Song dynasty (1000 years ago) and they are still working today! The oldest porcelain workshop and producing line as well as the most sophisticated modern artworks will show you why the porcelain in China is world widely renowned. You will also have a chance to experience pottery making and take your DIY pottery home.

In the afternoon, fresh up yourself in Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Avenue where many art galleries and small museums are located in. There are also a wonderful market where people gathered to sell and buy handicrafts and some unique home-made porcelain that cannot be seen in other places.

Day 3Wuyuan One day Tour

Today say goodbye to Jingdezhen, we will drive to the next fascinating spot - Wuyuan. On the way pay a visit to the 800 year-old Rainbow Bridge, almost the oldest, longest and most beautiful covered bridge in China!

Upon arrival, we will enjoy our lunch in Huangling with the freshest local ingredients. Wu yuan is voted as the most beautiful village in China. Drive for a while, you will see the 500 year-old village in Huangling Hill. From the foot to the top of the hill, you will see the uninterrupted green hills and mountains and terraces layer after layer.

Day 4Sanqing Mountain

After breakfast, today we will go to Sanqing Mountain by bus. It is one of the most famous Taoist mountains. As the indigenous religion of China, Taoism believes that man must be an integral part of nature, so it highly values the nature environment for believers’ practice. No wonder that the nature scenery in Sanqingshan is predominant in that area.

We will start our exploration of the essential parts of the mountain from Nanqingyuan Scenic Area. You will see many grotesque stones on the way, shaping like python snake and goddess, which are the goddess of spring and python out of the mountain. Then go ahead to the Sunshine Coast Scenic Area where to have the widest view of the whole mountain area. After hiking for 2 to 3 hours, we will arrive in the last stop today – the West Coast Scenic Area. Walk through the grand canyon and visit various Taoist temples there. And tomorrow you will know why we end our day in the West Coast. (Depending on your energy, you can choose whether to take cable car or not)

Day 5Wangxiangu Valley

Enjoy your buffet breakfast in the hotel. Then we will have 1.5 hours driving to the Wangxiangu Valley. On the way you will see many unique Hui style architectures and your guide will tell you the old stories behind some of them.

You will have a wonderful afternoon in the valley. The valley is called the No.1 valley in the south of Yangtze River. No matter strolling around the bamboo sea or even just sit beside the clear brook, the peaceful and beautiful valley will wipe away the dust from cities and tiredness from work. You can pay a visit to Qingyun Bridge, Xunxian Road, corridor bridge and Sandie waterfall.

Later in the day, when night falls, don’t be shocked, the dotted small lights in somewhere you didn’t noticed will suddenly be lighted up! And the whole valley will be changed into a fairyland for a second. Choose a higher place and overlook the valley, the permeating fog and shadowing clouds will tell you why such a stunning scenery is always be preferred by the traditional Chinese painting.

Day 6Longhu Mountain

Today we will take bus to one of the most famous Taoism mountains of China - Longhu Mountain. “Longhu” in Chinese means Dragon and Tiger. It is said that during the Eastern Han dynasty (25 AD - 220 AD), the founder of Zhengyi sect (a stream of Taoism) Zhang Daoling once did alchemic experiments and succeed eventually. Once he open the furnace, a dragon and a tiger jumped out and hovering over the mountain. That is what the name of this mountain derived. Longhu Mountain is also famous for its Danxia Landform. Although some of the visitors are not a Taoist or a fan of Taoism, they can still be satisfied with the wonderful scenery here.

We will also visit Tianshi Palace and Shangqing Ancient Village today. These are both excellent places to really know the culture of Chinese Taoism. Then try the Luxi River Drifting which is absolutely thrilling and exciting! Then drive back to Nanchang to stay overnight.

Day 7

Today is the last day of your tour. We will head to Tengwang Pavilion after breakfast. It is one of the most famous pavilions in China for its long history and profound culture. It was firstly built in early Tang dynasty (618 AD - 907 AD) by the little brother of Emperor Taizong and Tengwang means the King of Teng, which is the title of him. The pavilion was destroyed and restored many times in the history. This newly built one was strictly replicated according to the original appearance of the pavilion. It is extraordinary magnificent and the mighty Gan river surges onward, endless and expansive.

Afterwards, we will go to visit Badashanren Memorial Hall. “Badashanren” is the self-title of a very famous great calligraphers and painter of China living in the 17th century. His Chinese landscape painting is well-known in the world and has been regarded as one of the crowning achievements of Chinese painting.

Thereafter, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home. Say goodbye to Nanchang and wish you a pleasant journey home! Hope to see you again in your next China trip!

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
