Good news! Tibet is open to foreign tourists. Welcome to Tibet! However,But don't worry! You'll need to obtain a Tibet Travel Permit if you're a foreigner planning to travel to Tibet. You only need to provide your valid China visa and confirm the travel itinerary, and we will apply for all the necessary permits for you after receiving your data.

Visa for Tibet can be obtained from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Application has got to be made a minimum of 7 days before the commencement of the trip. Visa can be obtained by paying a surcharge upto 3 days before the trip departure date. Original passports are required for application of visa. The following details of the travelers are required to be submitted to the Chinese Embassy for the processing of the visa : name, nationality, passport number, sex, date of birth and profession along with one passport size photograph. Please note that visa for Tibet obtained elsewhere has still got to be endorsed by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Regular visas for China are not valid for travel into Tibet from Nepal.
Surcharge: A surcharge of US $ 40.00 on Tibet visa is applicable for British, Canadian, Belgian, Cameroon, Brazilian, Irish, French and Dutch Nationals.
DOCUMENTATION
You will be required to advise us the arrangement required of clients with details such as Full Name (exactly appears in the respective Passport), Date of Birth , Passport No, Date of issue, Date of Expiry, Sex, Nationality, Occupation and arrival/ departure flight/date information. Clients traveling to Tibet should arrive in Kathmandu at least 2 days prior to departure to Tibet to process the Tibet Visa with Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu as Chinese Embassy is open for visa application from 10 AM to 11 Am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If one wish to get the visa in one working day is also possible by paying surcharge of emergency visa fee. We advise to obtain double entry Nepal visa from Nepalese Embassy/Consulate abroad or obtain the same arrival at Kathmandu Airport.
Tibet Travel Permit (TTP)
A lot of people confuse the Tibet travel permit with a Tibet visa. However, the travel permit is not a visa, but an entry permit that allows you to enter Tibet. You can obtain the permit by applying through a local travel agency in Tibet. Please note! Foreign travelers are not allowed to board trains or flights to Tibet without the TTP.
Note! The permit indicates all the destinations and scenic spots you will visit when you come to Tibet, and you can't change them after you arrive in Tibet. Therefore, you must confirm your travel itinerary with the travel agency before applying for it.

Alien's Travel Permit (ATP)
If you plan to travel to or through a controlled area in Tibet, you must obtain an Alien Travel Permit (ATP). It is processed by the Public Security Bureau and issued by the Alien Affairs Department. Your tour guide will take your passport to the local public security bureau and apply for the ATP on your behalf before you travel.
You need to apply for ATP to travel to the following areas: Mount Everest, Shigatse, Kailash, Nyingchi, Shannan, Nagqu, Chamdu.
Military Permit
Military Permit is a travel permit issued by Tibetan military authorities.
You need to apply for Military Permit to travel to the following areas: Kailash, Nyingchi, Shannan, Chamdu.
