Day 1Arrive in Kunming

Arrive in Kunming by plane and we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2Travel around Erhai Lake in Dali

After breakfast, we will take you to the railway station in Dali and transfer you to the hotel. After that, we will be visiting the Xizhou, which is not only a famous historic city, but also a typical commercial town of Bai people. It is one of the cradles of National capitalism of Bai people, and a famous hometown to overseas Chinese in Yunnan. Afterwards, we are going to visit the Zhoucheng(tie dying), which is the largest and the farthest northern village of Dali City. The village has 7,571 inhabitants of 1,470 families. The entire village is in a square shape with row upon row of houses. we will head to visit the visit the Erhai Lake, This is an alpine fault lake in Yunnan province. Its name means "Ear-shaped Sea", due to its shape as seen by locals and travelers.

Day 3Explore the Old Town in Lijiang

After breakfast, we will drive to Lijiang. then we will be visiting the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Yak Meadow, Located 25 kilometers north of Lijiang. It is the southernmost snow-capped mountain in China and the ocean glacier nearest to the equator of all the snow mountains in Eurasia. Yak Meadow is the important part of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Visit the Lijiang old Town is officially called "Dayan Town", "Dayan" literally means a "great ink stab", a graphic description of the town's location on a piece of rich flatland fed by a river and surrounded by green mountains. Baisha Village, Wandering around the village, one can enjoy the slow lifestyle of the Naxi People and their friendly smiling faces.The Baisha Murals cannot be missed. These Murals are representative of Lijiang Murals and their creation took about three hundred years, from the early Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty.

Day 4Experience Tibetan Cultural Heritage in Shangrila

Morning breakfast at the hotel, then we will be visiting the First Bend of Yangtze, Tiger Leaping Gorge, and then transfer to Shangrila, visit the Dukezong Old Town upon arrival, The authentic Tibetan dwellings in Dukezong, gilded prayer halls and pagodas, and lanterns of various shapes lighting the way along narrow, winding lanes are permeated with the grace as well as the mystique of antiquity that enchants visitors the moment they set foot in it.

First Bend of Yangtze River :The attraction is the Jinshajiang section of the Yangtze, with an elevation of over 1800 meters. The sight is one of the top attractions of Lijiang and the important hub linking the Tiger Leaping Gorge, Laojunshan and Meli Snow Mountain.The great Yangtze flows down from the world's roof –Tibet Plateau and enter into the Yunnan province from Batang (one Tibet County), the river mixes two other great rivers, Lancang River (Lantsang) and Nu River (the Angry River) here, and then the Three Parallel Rivers landscape is formed.

Tiger Leaping Gorge:It is on the Jinsha River of the upper reaches of the Yangtze) is located 105 kilometers south of Zhongdian County. The gorge is 17 kilometers long with a drop of 213 meters.The Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle and Lower Hutiao. At the narrowest spot the river is only 30 meters wide. The mouth of the gorge is 1,800 meters above sea level. The river is flanked by Yulong and Haba snow mountains, with a height difference of 3,900 meters. It is one of the deepest gorges in the world.

Day 5Visit the temples of Shangri-La

After breakfast, we will head to visit the Ganden Songzanlin Monastery, Being the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan, Songzanlin Monastery, also known as Guihua Monastery, is one of the famous monasteries in the Kang region. Afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Kunming.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
