Day 2Fengdu County & Zhong County

Awaken to mist-kissed vistas as the ship docks in Fengdu. Wander the Fengdu Ghost City, its stone guardians and temples whispering myths of the underworld, or opt to explore Shuanggui Mountain, where lush trails wind through serene forests. Return to the ship for lunch, then join the Captain’s Welcome Party, clinking glasses of champagne as the Yangtze’s golden hues dance on the water. As evening falls, dock in Zhong County—choose to witness the epic “War Fire of Three Kingdoms” Show, where galloping horses and fiery theatrics bring ancient battles to life, or sway to melodies at the onboard dance party.

Morning light guides the ship to Fengjie, where the White Emperor City perches above Qutang Gorge. Opt to ascend its storied steps, where poets once marveled at the Yangtze’s might, or linger onboard as the vessel navigates the gorge’s narrow cliffs. By midday, transfer to a wooden sampan for the Lesser Three Gorges, where turquoise waters mirror jagged peaks and bamboo forests. Venture deeper into the Little Three Gorges or stroll the cobblestone lanes of Dachang Ancient Town, frozen in time. As dusk settles, savor a Three Gorges Feast—a culinary ode to the river—followed by a farewell gala, where crew performances blend song, dance, and the soul of the Yangtze.

Day 4Farewell to the Yangtze

On your final morning, the ship docks near the Three Gorges Dam. Step ashore to stand before this colossus of concrete and steel, its slopes taming the Yangtze’s power. For a grand finale, you have two options. Option A: Traversing the Ship Lift (approx.1h), watching vessels ascend like giants on a watery staircase. Option B: Enjoy the Three Gorges Tribe (approx.4h) which combines the natural beauty of the Yangtze River with the rich cultural heritage of the Ba and Chu civilizations, offering visitors a unique blend of scenic wonders and immersive cultural experiences.A shuttle then whisks you to Yichang, where the journey concludes, leaving you with memories of misty gorges, ancient legends, and the river’s timeless flow.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
